Poster for young Estonian artists exhibition
I was asked by the city museum of Tallinn to design a poster for the exhibition of young Estonian artists. The poster had to be eye-catching to attract the attention of the audience. The poster had to be printed in a large format and was meant to be displayed inside the museum building

As a starting point, I decided to go through the pages of "Graphic Design Manual" by Armin Hofmann and to look at the examples of posters that were created at Basel school.

I also wanted to somehow reflect the fact that these are Estonian artists, so I referred to an Estonian avant-garde artist Raul Meel for inspiration in typography-based design.

After examining the solutions I decided to start with a grid as a base for my design. I decided to use a grid of 4 columns and 4 rows. Josef Müller-Brockmann's "Grid Systems in Graphic Design" was a great source of inspiration for me.

Below is one of the variations of the poster design. I was trying to find a solution that would be both simple and effective.
